Title: GMFA's Guide To Gay Sports Clubs And Social Groups

L & G Christian Movement LGCM

The Inaugural General Meeting of the Gay Christian Movement (as it was then called) was held on 3rd April 1976, and at that meeting both the Statement of Conviction and the Aims of the Movement were agreed by the members. Later, our name was changed to the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement, in recognition of the increasing contribution of women to our work.In almost 40 years since then, it has never been felt necessary to change either the Statement or the Aims. Despite the huge changes in society, and the gentler pace of change in the churches, our conviction remains unchanged. It still calls us to respond in prophetic and authentic ways to anything which diminishes people because of the gender of the person they fall in love with – particularly when the Christian faith is used to justify that injustice.
